| Single Stage or Dual Stage. What's the Difference? Single stage pumps deliver the air from all cylinders in one cycle. The air goes directly from the cylinder into the tank. The result is a greater volume of air at the sacrifice of pressure. Dual or Two stage pumps transfer the air from the primary or low pressure cylinder to the secondary or high pressure cylinder. The air is further compressed by the high pressure cylinder. The result is a higher pressure with a sacrifice of volume. |

Some compressor manufacturers rate their compressors CFM at 40 or 90 psi. Mi-T-M
Single stage compressors are rated at an incredible 100 psi. The two stage
compressors are rated at 175 psi. This means that the ratings more accurately reflect
real world usage. You see, cubic foot discharge rate falls off as pressure climbs.
All Mi-T-M pumps on this page utilize cast iron cylinders and have a 100% duty rating.
Some manufacturers use rigid copper discharge lines. Mi-T-M compressors are
equipped with stainless steel braid discharge lines.
Tanks are durable powder paint coated.
